2009 Season

A Friends,

L lay the new 2009 season of mountain biking circuit in Puerto Rico. We start with a new directive and much encouragement to participate in events. We also have several new teams ready to go racing and get the fruits of their sacrifices.


P ara sadness of many this year do not have the first magazine Mountain Bike Boricua, mounted on wheels, it picked up the events of the competitions and pictures of well-accomplished individual events. We hope soon to have an Internet version to the delight of all. Keep up Pedro!


U na very good initiative is that this year will be coordinating several scrimmages a month in different parts of Puerto Rico, as a prelude to competition. These scrimmages organized by the biker community itself began in Cabo Rojo, "The Mecca of Mountain Biking in Puerto Rico", in Monte Carlo XC route. Soon we will be announcing other scrimmages for cyclists in the metropolitan area, we have the routes of Monagas and Cerro Gordo.


T ambién se harán los tradicionales fogueos de comienzo de temporada avalados por la Comisión de Mountain Bike de Puerto Rico. El primer fogueo se llevara a cabo el 1 de febrero en Barceloneta y el segundo será el Festival de Ciclismo Lajeño el día 15 de febrero. En este último no solo se correrá la modalidad de Ciclismo de Montaña, sino que se incluye la modalidad de Ruta. Ambos eventos tendrán premios en metálicos.

E n Marzo dará comienzo oficialmente la Temporada 2009, con los eventos de “Cross Country” en Salinas, Cabo Rojo, Rincón y Monagas. En los eventos de Salinas y Rincón se incluye la modalidad de “Downhill”.

Q "ue can expect from this season? Many Action! That is what we expect, along with more participation of cyclists and many spectators. This year we hope to break the record of girls in competition, we are seeing more fogueando around the island, and even have their own Blog where you can see where and when they train. Very careful with the girls who can spend a lot of guys ... rolo
